"Merry Christmas"

At this time of year it is easy to get caught up in wondering if our children like the gifts they have received. Each year the suspense grows as the gifts get more and more expensive, as we try to outdo last year.
We should never separate ourselves from the truth that Christ is the "TRUE" gift at Christmas, without whom there would indeed be NO Christmas. The truth is God gave unto a broken and needy world the very present it needed; a saviour. Who better for the position than the creator, God almighty himself. John 1:14 says "and the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us", Jesus is the Word, Jesus is God in the flesh and Jesus is the gift of salvation to all mankind.

I ask you to give up thoughts of letting your children down because you couldn't afford that Ipod, Xbox, Playstation, etc. and remember that salvation is not for sale and therefore cannot be purchased, but freely it is given and yet is more valuable than the most expensive gift in the world.

Be blessed at Christmas, and we ask that whilst you share this magical day with friends and family, that you take a moment to spare a thought to the many who will be spending it alone.

God bless you

Alan
